PSHouse at Vaals
The project was designed by Gablok Nederland and completed in 2022 in Vaals, Limburg, showcasing the innovative application of our modular construction system from concept through execution.
The PSHouse represents a radical reinterpretation of what a contemporary home can be an architectural response that moves beyond conventional residential design. Conceived and realized by Gablok Nederland, the villa embraces the unique topography of Vaals, Limburg, where rolling landscapes and shifting light patterns define both the atmosphere and the rhythm of daily life. From the earliest sketches, the design team pursued a vision that merges architecture and nature into a continuous dialogue, allowing the home to breathe with its surroundings.
At the core of the project is our innovative structural timber construction system, which enabled a clean, precise, and highly efficient building process. This approach allowed for exceptional thermal performance, a sustainable material footprint, and ultimate adaptability to the site. The structural concept itself supports the home's minimal aesthetic: clear volumes, honest materials, and an architectural language that prioritizes light, proportion, and function over unnecessary ornamentation.
Responding directly to the client’s request for a minimal yet fully functional living environment, the design focuses on fluid spatial organization and intuitive circulation. Every space has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and usability without compromising elegance. The relationship between inside and outside plays a central role; the villa features a thoughtfully crafted semi-open living zone positioned to capture maximum sunlight throughout the day. This transitional space blurs boundaries, creating a year-round extension of the interior and framing changing seasonal views of the Vaals landscape.
Ultimately, PSHouse is more than a dwelling it is a tailored architectural experience shaped by context, material intelligence, and a deep understanding of contemporary living. It stands as a testament to what is possible when innovative timber technology and thoughtful design converge in harmony with nature.
